A) Wood Quena, notched flute from Chile. [qc] $100.
B) Tenor Flute is a replica of the Renaissance D flute.
The model is still used today in the British Isles. Three-part rosewood,
23" long. Six holes; cross fingerings are employed to play, Zippered case

C) Ebonite Flute, 6 keys, B flat. Three pieces, slide

D) Ebonite Flute, 6 holes, B flat. Three pieces, slide

This Wood Transverse Flute from Nepal is one of the easiest
wood flutes to play. It is light in weight, and decorated with metal strips
and dots, with a wooden tassel at the end. 6 holes. B flat. 16 1/2" long.

Large wood Transverse Flute from Nepal. 6 holes. D flat. 30"

Shakuhachi, the traditional notched flute of Japan, is here
made of wood. 21.5" long, with 4 fingerholes in front and one thumbhole in
back. Made in Nepal. [shaku] $120.
This little wooden fipple flute, called a bacha baja, is under
6" long. It has 6 holes in 2 rows, and 2 side holes. [bacha] $22.
These beautiful hand-made flutes from Mexico
are made of clay, the material apparently most used for wind instruments of
the pre-Columbian cultures of MesoAmerica.

Rain-god flute, pre-Columbian design double flute from

Double-faced goddess flute. In the villages these flutes are made for
a certain period of time and then not produced for years after. Tlatilco
(1300-1800 B.C.) was one of the great pottery sites of Mexico noted for female
